Named for the creek that begins on the property, Terrapin Creek Ranch is located ten minutes west of Columbia and ten minutes east of Rocheport. Situated on over 300 acres of open pastures and dense woods, the house lies nearly one-third of a mile off the road, providing excellent privacy and seclusion from the outside world. Looking out the front or back door of the house, you will find no other houses in sight, giving you complete privacy and solace.
This lodging is entirely unmanned, so if you want seclusion, this is the place for it. Although we do not serve food, the kitchen is stocked and ready for your use. It has an oven, range, microwave, toaster, and refrigerator stocked with breakfast foods (bacon, farm fresh eggs, bread, orange juice, bottled water, etc). Each reservation comes with a complementary bottle of wine from the local Rocheport winery.
The house itself is a turn-of-the-century arts and crafts style bungalow with a living room, library room, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, dining room, back deck with bistro table and full kitchen facilities capable of accommodating an intimate party of two or an entire family. The house has been restored to modern standards, with fully functional heating and central air conditioning, as well as modern appliances and furnishings. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, while the other bedroom has two twin size beds for your use. All rooms have high quality linens with high thread counts. In addition, the living room has a fold-out sofa that can accommodate even more, as well as a television with local programming and a DVD player and several titles to choose from. If you enjoy reading, the library room is stocked with select classic and modern literature, as well as current magazines.
We now have gift certificates available, which make great gifts.
Should you want a full-service bed and breakfast, the lodgings in Rocheport can meet your needs.
We hope you'll include Terrapin Creek in your plans to visit Rocheport or Columbia!
